Who are we?
Better Start Bradford – funded by The National Lottery Community Fund – is a part of Bradford Trident and is working with families to help give children the best start in life. Bradford Trident is a community-owned and community-run charity providing support for the BD5 and surrounding area.
Who are the data controllers for Better Start Bradford?
The joint data controllers are The National Lottery Community Fund and Bradford Trident.
What information do we collect?
The National Lottery Community Fund is a public body with a statutory duty to distribute National Lottery and other funds for good causes. We process your information as a necessary part of being funded by The National Lottery Fund. This makes us joint data controllers.
We will not collect and use your information for purposes beyond our statutory duties except where we have your consent or notified you of any changes to processing your personal information. We will only collect and store the information that you choose to provide to us, which will typically include things like your name, email address and mobile number. We may do this through conversations, or joiner forms like on this website.
How do we use the information we collect?
We would like to use the information that you are providing to contact you with information about our programme. This may be events, projects or activities that may be of interest or benefit to you. We take your privacy very seriously and will not pass your details on to anybody outside of this organisation without your express consent.
How your information is stored?
We will keep your personal data up-to-date and store it securely. We will put appropriate technical measures in place to protect it from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure, and not collect or retain excessive amounts of personal data. Examples of when we ask for information are;
- E-newsletter- The information you provide will be stored securely on an external database called Mailchimp. Mailchimp is our email marketing automation platform. This will not be accessed by anybody outside of Better Start Bradford and will only be used for the purposes of sending communications that you have signed up for.
- Booking onto an event- If we ask you to book onto an event your data will be collected using Eventbrite. The information you provide when booking will be exported from Eventbrite so we can track who attends our events. The data you provide us is aggregated and anonymised. This will not be accessed by anybody outside of Better Start Bradford.
- Your feedback – We will collect your personal information when you voluntarily provide such information for example when you contact us through enquiries or respond to one of our surveys through Survey Monkey. Survey Monkey is an online development cloud-based service. We use this to gather opinions and feedback. The information we collect may include your name, your full postal address, email address and other information that may be able to identify you personally. The data you provide us will be anonymised and aggregated to help us see patterns. This will not be accessed by anybody outside of Better Start Bradford.
- Event volunteer applications – We will collect and securely store personal information such as contact details to enable us to contact you about your application or with specific event support requests. Your application will be stored securely in our website content management system and downloaded and stored securely on our IT network. This will not be accessed by anybody outside of Better Start Bradford.
In all of these cases, our processing of your personal data relies on your consent. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. We may share your data between services within Bradford Trident but you will not be contacted regarding any services you have not requested or signed up for.
Transfer of data abroad
Your personal data will not be transferred to a country outside of the European Economic Area. If this changes, we will inform you.
If you are no longer interested in hearing from us
We keep your personal data for no longer than is necessary. If you decide you do not want to hear from us anymore, we will remove your details from our mailing lists and you will not receive any further communications. You can contact us at any time to request removal using the details provided below or through the unsubscribe options provided on the medium you hear from us on.
