Preparing you and your child for school.
When your child starts school it can be both an exciting and anxious time for parent and child. We want to support you to make this next stage in your lives as smooth as possible.
Ready, Steady School gives you the opportunity to discuss any concerns that you may have about your child’s development and get top tips for those big changes in the world, including:
- Potty training
- Stepping on from the pushchair
- Oral health
Ready Steady School sessions will be taking place in Early Years settings across Better Start Bradford every month starting this month. The sessions are for families with children under the age of four who would welcome support and advice around their child’s health development and well-being.
We are delighted that our projects, Oral Health team, Health Visiting teams and Children’s Centres are all involved in Ready Steady School, giving parents access to a whole range of expertise all in one place.
Our first sessions will be held at Thornbury Primary School and Karmand Nursery, with Barkerend Primary School and Thornbury Play & Learn Nursery coming soon. We are also planning Ready Steady School events with Children’s Place Nursery, Park Lane Pre-school, Bankfoot School and St Stephens School. We would love to partner with even more Schools and Early Years settings to support as many families in our part of Bradford as we can, so please get in touch if you want to know more.
If you have a child under four and would like to come along to a Ready Steady School event, give our team a call for all the latest dates and timings near you: Abida (family and community engagement team) or Heather (programme facilitator) – 01274 723146. You can also look out for information from the venues or contact the venues we mentioned which are nearest to you for more details.
