After the success of the first ever Baby Week Bradford last year, Better Start Bradford and partners are thrilled to announce the programme for the second Baby Week Bradford, with more than 40 free events taking place from 4-10 November 2019. Babies are amazing. They’re born ready for everything and really deserve to be celebrated, that’s why we’re dedicating a whole week to them, again. Last year, over 1,000 people attended baby focused events across the district and this year promises an even more exciting series of events and workshops. During the week, there will be something for everyone: fun activities for families and babies such as messy play, story and rhyme time, mini music sessions, outdoor play, a wetland walk and baby raves! The week will launch on Monday 4 November at the Mercure Bradford Bankfield Hotel, Bingley, 9.00am-2.30pm, with a series of films, a theatre performance of Brenda’s Got a Baby, a ‘flash poetry’ workshop, storytime with the tale of Bad Bunny and much more, including an exhibition of support services on offer to babies and families across Bradford (everyone is welcome - to book your place please visit www.babyweekbradford.org). There will also be informative sessions focused on infant mental health, self-care and first aid for babies, a birth story café and dad-focused workshops, including ‘The Feminine/Masculine Dance of Birth’ and for dads and dads-to-be ‘My partner is pregnant – What do I do now?’ with midwife and author of Men, Love and Birth, Mark Harris. The week will end with the Big Baby Rave! With BoomChikkaBoom at the Wonderlab in the National Science and Media Museum on Saturday 9 November 12.00-3.00pm for families with 0-4’s (it’s free and no booking required). Alex Spragg, Director, Better Start Bradford, said: “Together with our partners, we are delighted to be delivering the second Baby Week Bradford. The week is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our amazing babies and bring together everyone with an interest in helping babies thrive. All events are free and we look forward to welcoming babies and families from across the district.” For further information and the full programme of events please visit www.babyweekbradford.org Baby Week Bradford is being delivered in partnership with Bradford Council, Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, Better Start Bradford projects and voluntary and community organisations across the Bradford district. Baby Week originated in Brazil, Semana do Bebe, and was adapted in 2016 by Baby Week (Leeds) who are now a UK registered charity (Charity number 1178324).  For further information about Baby Week (Leeds) please visit www.babyweek.co.uk.
