Perinatal Peer Support Volunteer Training

Are you a good listener? Our Perinatal Support Service, delivered by Family Action,  provides support and a listening ear to women who are suffering mild to moderate mental health issues during the perinatal period via their network of volunteer Perinatal Peer Supporters.

If you’d like to take on this rewarding volunteering opportunity, this training will cover everything you need. It covers a wide range of topics to help volunteers understand their role, including:

  • Peer Support
  • Equality and Diversity
  • Perinatal Mental Health
  • Communication Skills
  • Attachment and Bonding
  • Domestic Abuse
  • Managing Risk & Safeguarding
  • Health and Safety

Three sessions will take place at the Perinatal Support Service office at Kenburgh House, 28 Manor Row,BD1 4QU, and three will be delivered remotely on Zoom.

The sessions will run from 9.30am until 12.00pm. The above date is the start date, with training taking place on:

Thursday 23 March 2023
Monday 27 March 2023
Thursday 31 March 2023

All 6 training sessions need to be completed.
