ESOL for pregnancy

FREE ESOL classes for pregnant women

For expectant parents who don't speak English as a first language

A face-to-face beginners course to help pregnant women develop their English language skills to help them communicate with their midwife and other health professionals.

Please note that the above date is the start date of a six-week course:

Monday 16 January
Monday 23 January
Monday 30 January
Monday 6 February
Monday 13 February
Monday 20 February

You will learn English through pictures, diagrams, practice and role play around:

  • Pregnancy and birth
  • Key relevant parts of the body
  • Health and safety in pregnancy
  • Key symptoms women feel in pregnancy
  • When to call your midwife/hospital
  • Birth preferences and a simple birth plan
