Virtual Live Learning Session: Resilience

Documentary screening

For the maternity and early years workforce, volunteers and students

Thursday 29 February 2024

1.00pm - 2.30pm

Online via MS Teams

Bradford’s Adversity, Trauma and Resilience (ATR) Project brings you this documentary screening of Resilience as a part of our ongoing commitment to increase awareness and begin conversations on this important topic. Please join us as we bring to light one of the largest public health crises our nation is facing today.

This highly-acclaimed documentary reveals that there is a dangerous biological impact caused by abuse and neglect during childhood. As the documentary reveals, toxic stress can trigger hormones that wreak havoc on the brains and bodies of children, putting them at a greater risk for disease, homelessness, prison time, and early death. While the broader impacts of poverty worsen the risk, no segment of society is immune. Resilience, however, also chronicles the dawn of a movement that is determined to fight back.

The Better Start Bradford Virtual Live Learning Sessions are a great opportunity to learn more about the Better Start Bradford programme from our broad range of partners, and apply this learning to your work and the broader ‘Babies, Children and Young People’s Prevention’ agenda.

We welcome you to explore the other topics on offer during February 2024 and to book places on as many sessions as you’d like. All sessions are held via MS Teams.

These events are designed for practitioners and students in public, voluntary, education, arts and any other organisations who work with and support families, plus anyone who wants to know more about our work in the Bradford district.
