'Sweetie' - My Baby Buddy
When Fahmeeda fell pregnant with her baby son Umair, she couldn’t wait to find out more about her growing baby. After seeing a poster at her local doctor’s surgery and after recommendation from her mum, she decided to download the Baby Buddy app.
Fahmeeda’s story
I was so eager to find out about my developing baby that I had already downloaded another baby application on my phone before I found out about Baby Buddy. However the app that I had was quite confusing and once I started to use Baby Buddy I deleted it.
Baby Buddy was just so simple to follow. I created my own avatar who I called ‘Sweetie’ and when I got up in the morning, I couldn’t wait for ‘Sweetie’ to tell what was going to happen that day. I would find out the size of my baby, which was usually compared to the size of a fruit! I would also find out how my baby was developing, such as when he got hair and nails.
The app would encourage me to take a photo of my growing bump every month and at the end of my pregnancy, I downloaded this as a video to keep. I thought that was a lovely touch and I love watching it and showing it to friends, family and Umair.
If I ever wanted to find anything out, I never had to search elsewhere as everything I needed was in the app. I remember wanting to know more about the role of the placenta, how feeding worked and what type of food would help my growing baby. ‘Sweetie’ would find all of the information I needed: there was lots of clear information and videos that I could watch to find out more. My mum would even watch some of them with me. The app was so clever and I could find out local events and save appointments in the calendar.
I would recommend Baby Buddy to all of my pregnant friends – it’s really simple to use, it will tell you everything that you need to know, and is simply amazing.
