Baby Week Bradford: 14-20 November 2025
Healthy Parent, Healthy Baby
Caring for You...Caring for Baby
Self-care is a must when caring for your baby…
From the moment you start planning to have a baby, to your baby growing inside you, you become their world. That’s why it is so important for parents and carers to love and care for themselves too.
Baby Week Bradford 2025 aimed to help this mission, with events and information around:
-
Personal care
-
Good health and nutrition
-
Improved mental health
-
Making time for yourself
-
Making the most of support networks
-
Being active, playful and bonding with your baby
Some highlights
-
The title, Caring for You…Caring for Baby, was chosen by the steering group in response to the national theme, Healthy Parent, Healthy Baby, focusing on why it’s important for parents and carers to attend to their own health and wellbeing, to help them provide the best care for their babies and children.
-
With Better Start Bradford having scaled back its involvement during their final few months of operation as a programme, district partners stepped into the breach and uploaded no less than 60 events to the Baby Week UK website, including:
-
Warm-up events at the newly-opened Darley Street Market and at Airedale Shopping Centre, with an interactive jigsaw activity, stalls, refreshments, performances, and of course the obligatory baby rave and Baby Week Wiggle.
-
Toddlers’ Takeover at Bolling Hall Museum, with hands-on activities to spark curiosity, build confidence, and strengthen parent-child bonds.
-
Mini Moments, Me Time: calming mindfulness exercises, gentle movements and simple hand massage techniques for parents/carers, at Shipley and Keighley’s Family Hubs.
-
-
Alongside both warm-up events, the Family Hubs showcased their newly fitted-out satellite hub at Bevan Community Benefit Society in Bradford city centre, and the new Keighley Community and Family Hub at Airedale Shopping Centre. Families enjoyed a variety of activities and found out more about the support available from Family Hubs across the district.
-
Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture participated in the week by providing special performances of Grateful – a playful, provocative performance about being a new mum, with live music, dance and storytelling – and by giving away free tickets to REPLAY, a pop-up play space built entirely from reused materials.
